As some of you know, recently SGT Daniel Schultz of the Alexandria police department decided that protests in front of Grace Episcopal Church must be conducted in silence. As part of our interaction, he repeatedly shoved me without authority or justification, thus committing assault and battery.

I have filed a formal complaint with the department and am deciding whether to press a lawsuit against the department. Who knew that only silent protests were permitted under the First Amendment? The ACLU and I are also in discussions about next steps.

Here is his photo, for the record.
