In previous posts, I documented the shocking decline of Grace Episcopal Church under Bob Malm’s “leadership,” including the loss of approximately 120 pledging units. Recent evidence further supports this conclusion, including vestry minutes, which reveal a 16 percent decline in average Sunday attendance (ASA), since he initiated his conflict with me.
There’s also considerable evidence that, while parishioners have stepped up their giving in an effort to offset Bob’s damage, they are stretched thin, and things may be nearing the breaking point. For example, the altar guild tea, a wonderful event, traditionally is sold out almost immediately after tickets go on sale. But recent vestry minutes reveal both that ASA has dropped sharply, and suggest that money is becoming tight for parishioners, as numbers are sharply down for the altar guild tea.
