While executive director, I hired Kelly Motormouth Gable, after her mother complained to me about the financial challenges they were facing. While Kelly was, at best, an average employee, she asked if I objected to her staying on when I left the organization, to which I replied “no.”
Recently, the attached email from Kelly to Bob Malm, then to the Episcopal bishop of Virginia, came to light.
In it, Bob lies. That’s right — Bob Malm lies to the bishop. And Bob’s lie is readily proved, for elsewhere, under oath, Bob Malm contradicts himself.
Specifically, he claims that Kelly’s assertions predate my arrival at Grace. Yet Bob Malm knew firsthand of these issues, having heard directly from me. Moreover, he provided pastoral care to Kelly on this issues, and referenced them in his request for a protective order.
Here is the email, with Bob’s lie circled, as well as that of Kelly Gable:
And here is Bob Malm’s reference in his affidavit for a protective order in which he specifically references the legal skirmishing that happened when I left RPJ Housing:
So why does perjuring priest Bob Malm lie in his email to the bishop? As previously discussed, my belief is that he wanted to trash me with diocesan staff, while avoiding the incovenient question of why he would have someone allegedly so untrustworthy serving on the vestry. I therefore conclude that Bob changed the timeline so as to have his cake and eat it too.
The great irony in all of this is that there are still folks at Grace Episcopal who refuse to believe that Bob Malm is a liar, who continue to support him, and who continue to be part of a denomination so morally bankrupt that this sort of behavior is okay for clergy. Just remember—this is a diocese that can say with a straight face that it won’t deal with Bob Malm’s perjury on the basis that he hasn’t actually been convicted of the crime of perjury.
And to anyone who still thinks they will experience God at Grace Church, all I can say is that they are proceeding on blind faith. Perjury, defamation per se — this is just about the most toxic parish you could ever encounter.
